So this is a 1991 Nissan Pulsar GTi-R. It is listed on our favorite Japanese import site, japaneseclassics.com, and it looks to be in really great shape. That’s not what I learned, though.
What I learned is this. It has an oem umbrella holder. This particular car is even more special because it still has the umbrella. It’s basically a Rolls-Royce.

Man Pulsar GTi-R’s are not cheap... and if anything goes wrong with the engine or drive train you’re basically screwed since it’s almost all unique to the GTi-R and they didn’t make that many of them so spares are rare as fuck...
I still want one.

Ha! I know there’s others out there (Svend’s Skoda Superb has it), but most relate with the RR.

That’s both awesome and quite brave. Like Jaws commented, parts are hard to come by and quite expensive.

Yeah, neither of them were running 100%; the GTX had electrical and the Pulsar didn’t like the local fuel.. The local wrxs are pretty hard to beat- even the jdm ones are easier to run.

No, that was a March (Micra) Super Turbo, which is a size class smaller (think Versa).

Aaah. Funny thing is a Versa is probably about the same size as the Pulsar.

nuts
. I just want to know why. I know why a Rolls has one - it’s the height of luxury. I know why the GTi-R has hood vents - because it’s got a fiery 4 in it. But why does the GTi-R have an umbrella? Why doesn’t the standard N12 Pulsar? Absurd.
